You define O_Y(U) = O_X(Y \cap U) for Y a closed subset. But aren't the sections of sheaf O_X defined only on open sets? It is not clear to me that Y \cap U is open in X for Y a closed subset.?

a question, the sheaf, at the beginning, is only defined for U1 and U2, but not for their intersection, right
And because of properties one can say that the sheaf at U12 is the direct sum of 2 copies of Z.Thanks?

This is a rather minor point, but around 5:40, wouldn't it be more clear to write \phi_{i} \in Hom(C_{i}, Z) rather than equality??

I didn't get why phi_i= d_{i-1} o phi_{i-1} ?
d_{i-1} takes his value in C_{i-1} and phi_{i-1} ends in Z, not C_{i-1}.
